4K (also known as UHD)  is an image technology that quadruples the number of pixels found within a full HD picture. These pixels are usually arranged in a 3,840 x 2,160 configuration comparative to only the 1920 x 1080 you get in a full HD TV. The additional resolution in 4K images is a dramatic increase in detail, providing more depth and overall color saturation to the picture.
